i recently had to create a spark effect for a circular saw. so i decided it would be easier to do a particle effect rather than some crazy timeline animation. this effect took about an hour to create. it's fairly customisable, however i didn't use angles to calculate the direction as i wanted it to use as little CPU as possible because it was going in a banner.
