firstly, this process is primarily for websites. games and other interactive projects
may (and probably will) require a different process.
the process is broken down into 3 phases before it is ready to go. these are:
- DESIGN
- DEVELOPMENT
- TESTING
during the design phase, either myself or another designer will produce concepts for you to choose from and approve. the chosen concept is then designed and the artwork will be presented for approval before development.
once the artwork is approved IT CANNOT BE CHANGED FOR FREE - very important. if you change your mind later down the track, the additional changes will be requoted.
once design is complete, development begins. this is where i retreat to a dark basement to work and then suddenly when you think i've skipped the country, your website appears ready for testing. at this point i allow one round of functional changes - remember, artwork changes get a requote.
after testing and some more coding on my behalf, your website is ready and i meet up with you to teach you how to use it - usually in the company of beer and wine.
building a website is much like building a house. if you change the plans when the walls are up it's ALOT of work to go back and move rooms around - especially when plumbing is involved. also it keeps me out of the loony bin.
well actually maybe you don't ask this because you don't know what hosting is. it's where the website physically lives in the world on a computer and it costs money. you can provide your own through a hosting company of your choice, or i can give you some for $5AUD a month which will cover most projects.
this is called a DOMAIN NAME and i can help you with that. it's usually about $10 - $20AUD a year depending on what extension you want for example .com, .au, etc.
for starters, if you don't know what these things are, you shouldn't be asking for them. if you do know what they are and you would like one, then yes i can help. but on the large part, it is in most cases QUICKER, BETTER and CHEAPER for you if i build your site from scratch - regardless of whatever gen y/z developer has told you.

WHY SO ANTSY ABOUT CHANGES YOU ASK?

WHAT ABOUT HOSTING YOU ASK?

BUT I WANT SUPERAWESOMEWEBSITE.COM. HOW DO I GET THAT ADDRESS?
this is called a DOMAIN NAME and i can help you with that. it's usually about $10 - $20AUD a year depending on what extension you want for example .com, .au, etc.
I WANT A DRUPAL/WORDPRESS/ANY OTHER 'WEB 2.0' BUZZWORD SITE
